New Poontoon
#1
I was thinking of and wanting a poontoon boat. All the kicking on the float tube was very hard on my knees.
I looked through the different posts on this site and found a link to The Creek Company website.
They had an 8' poontoon for sale at $189. It included shipping during their sale.
I ordered it on Sunday and it was at my door step on Wednesday. I was floored at the speed of service.
I haven't had it on the water yet, but from what I have seen so far, I am going to enjoy this boat.
I am taking it to Willard saturday morning for its maiden voyage.

From the service that I recieved from them, I would recommend them to anyone.

I tried Cabelas first, they didn't have the boat I wanted in stock and told me it would be about 5 weeks to get one too me.
Nothing against Cabelas, I just recieved far better service from The Creek Company.

[cool][#0000ff]Congrats on your new ride. I am sure you will enjoy it. It will take some getting used to, especially after using a tube. You sit higher off the water and have a larger "reach area". If you are not an experienced oarsman, it will be a challenge to learn to use the oars to propel yourself in a straight line. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Don't discard your fins. Keep them on and use them to maintain position when you are not rowing. That allows for hands free fishing, just as if you were still in your tube. You might also want to get an anchor, for those times when you can anchor in a breeze and save both kicking and rowing.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Good luck on your Saturday shakedown cruise. You are likely to have a lot of company on the water. I am guessing that with the price of gas a lot of folks will be staying closer to home rather than driving a long ways for the holiday.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Let me know if you need help tricking out your new ride. Every toon has a slightly different frame setup. I have set up sonars and rod holders on enough of them by now that I have a pretty good feel for where everything should go and how to attach it.[/#0000ff]
