We prefer to stay in the Anvil Draw/Holmes Crossing area. It is close to the bigger kokes. We find a cove where the boat is protected at night and pull the truck down to the shore. Fresh kokanee fillets everynight on the barbie. No shade in that area. If you want trees and shade and don't mind launching everyday, the camping areas along Sheep Creek are a good bet. Also the KOA in Manila is a nice place, but runs over $30 per night, good showers. Again as far as camping on the beach where you can have the boat in the water and the truck with gear next to you, look for a dirt road by Anvil or Holmes.

There are campgrounds on Kingfisher Island and at Hideout that are only accessible by boat. They have tent pads and shade trees. I would think about those if you don't need to be by your vehicle at night. They are both near Sheep Creek bay.
