drove out to willard bay tuesday night. camped my the river and fished for a bit. caught one walleye about 14 inches long. filleted it up cooked it for dinner then went to sleep. woke up at 5:45 and made it to the south marina gates just as the ranger had come to open them up. was on the water 6:00 AM. managed to hook a crappie in about 10 minutes. put it in the basket for breakfast soon as the sun came up. didnt catch anything else for the rest of the twilight hours. then the sun rose and the boils started. they were scattered and briefe. i followed the fish from the marina all the way past the feed lots, which is quite a distance in a tube. managed a few small wipers an a bass, all were let go. landed at the marina around noon cooked up the crappie for lunch then went back out, stayed inside the main chanel this time. laned about 6 14-10 inch cats. and one 24 in wiper which reluctantly went into the basket. fished from 6 to about 7:30. landed a lot of fish, mostly small ones though. allt he bass and wipers were caught on a blue and white "blleding shad" rap, all the cats on cut minnow. saw the lake fill and empty about 4 times. odd to see a lake as big as willard with only one guy, in a tube on it.
