On Jordanelle,Rock Cliffs up by the stick ups.If you are fishing from a boat.Just use a small hook, and peice of worm until you catch one, then cut him up and use for bait to catch the rest.Pikeman and his son limited out I think doing this.Limit of 50 per person.

Jordanelle by the inlet of the Provo. We were using a 1/32 oz panther martin and we were canthing them as fast as we could reel them in until about 11:30 then the bite died and we began catching smallies for about an hour after that. Here are a few of the perch we were catching. Smallest we kept was 8" (only because we gutted him from the mouth out removing my panther martin and the largest was 11". We were catching really small ones all around 3-4" and we kept around 10 to use for cut bait, after we started using perch on the panther martins the perch got much bigger and the fun was on!

Another good possibility is Mantua (if you will be fishing from your boat). The nice thing about Mantua is that you will also catch some huge bluegill and possibly some nice bass.

Are the water skiers off of Jordanelle yet? If so that would be the best option.

[cool][#0000ff]Colder water and school being back in session has reduced the numbers of the power squadron. And, as has been mentioned, the last few hundred yards at the inlet end of Rock Cliffs is a buoyed off "wakeless" speed zone. Not all boats adhere to the rules, but it is definitely better than most other areas of the lake if you want some tranquility.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I will be posting a report later on fishing the past two days at Rock Cliffs. The perch are up in the shallows, near the inlet of the Provo River, gorging on young perchlets about 2" long. They are smacking almost any small jig, worms, perch meat or whatever...if you can find them. However, fishing from the bank is not good. Only tiny perch right now, with an occasional smallie. You have to get out in the channels and on the flats with a boat or tube or toon. But, once you find the schools you can load up.[/#0000ff] [signature] |
