That second one seems pretty promising. Lots of mountain lakes that would be awesome in....

[cool][#0000ff]The Prowler is brand new. I have not seen one yet, but my first impression is that it is good quality but too pricey for the average tuber. Several foo-foo options that not everybody wants, but has to pay for in order to get this ride.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have seen the Trinity. Great concept. All the floatation and quality of other Outcast products, but light enough to make it a good choice for the backpacker.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Thanks for posting these. Someone posted the Prowler on the Utah Board but I have been offline for a couple of days (after the storm) and did not get a chance to put it up.[/#0000ff]

[black]The Prowler is cool with that elevated floor to keep stuff dry and that apron is nice. The Hydration pack.....well, I have one I take and by afternoon I am usually sucking down warm water...YUCK![/black]
[black]You are right on the prices. Heck for that price and less I would get the Freestyle H3.[/black]

I use a hydration pack for mountain biking. The key to keeping it cool is to fill it completely with ice cubes.

[black]I tried that, but then I got real thirsty and it wasn't melting fast enough. Then I filled it half full, and froze it. That was closer, but still either not fast enough or warm.[/black]
[black]Hmmm.[crazy][/black]
[black]Now I pack a small ice chest on my toon and when river, I use the filtration bottles. That water is always cold if you know what I mean[cool][/black]

[cool][#0000ff]A basic fact of float tubing fishing physics is that what goes in must come out. Hydration is a problem...not a solution. Not too bad if you are fishing "wet", but when you are wearing neoprenes you don't wanna take on more than your bladder can handle during the course of a long session on the water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If I am planning a tubing trip I begin by cutting down on my liquid intake the night before and avoiding cafeinated drinks on the morning of the trip. Yeah, on a warm day you can get dehydrated a bit, but better than having to keep making unscheduled visits to the bank.[/#0000ff]

Hmm. That Prowler might be a good thing but the picture reminds me of the clownish appearance of the Water Skeeter DayTripper and brings to mind pictures of a tippy tube that gets blown all over the lake. Maybe it's just a bad camera angle, so I'll hold my criticism 'till I have more information.

[black]Must be the angle, cause it looks just like the other Fat Cats, but instead of a point on the end it is blunt, but that portion is out of the water anyway.[/black]
[black]From what I gather, instead of a small inflatable portion for you hind end, it goes all the way to the back of the tube, then the back rest is in the middle. Would definitely make it more buoyant and able to support more weight.[/black]

I guess I am still leery of the inflatable seats on the Outcast products. It seems to me if the inflatable bottom springs a leak, you would drop down into the water quite a bit and have a very uncomfortable kick back to your vehicle. I do like the beefier backrest though.

I agree that the Trinity looks like a very nice option for back country fishing.

[black]Just a guess, but I am betting with that $450 price tag on the Prowler and the fact that it is Urethane instead of PVC that the leak thing isn't going to happen too often.[/black]
[black]As I said, I have an Escalade (scadden who use to design for Outcast) and the inflateable seat is still hole less after 4 yrs.[/black]
The Urethane is tuff but, is reflected in the price and weight.
