Tincanfsh and I fished Huntington Reservoir and Cleveland yesterday. We ended up catching 28 tiger trout and should have caught at least double that number. Vertically jigged, except for leaving our jigs in the water while we moved a few times. Trolling probably would have also been good, because we got several hits the little time we trolled, but only hooked one fish trolling, using one of TubeDude's perch urchins. Tipped Paddle Bugs and small jigs with either a chunk of minnow or a piece of crawler. Minnows seemed to work a little better. Those tigers put up a great fight, even the smaller ones. Most were in the 11 - 13 inch range, with the largest going 17 inches. Fished Cleveland from the shore for a few minutes at the end of the day and managed to catch a couple fat 13 inch rainbows.

Sounds like a fun trip Kent. Any pics of those tigers? They can put on some spectacular colors this time of year.

Sorry, more details than I want to give on an open forum for a smaller reservoir -- you know how to reach me. No surface temperature, but it was definitely cool to the touch.

Should have taken a few pictures but too lazy to do so. We kept three fish, and all three of them looked very different from each other. We only caught two fish that were darkly colored.

Were you fishing from the port-a-bot?

Yep, we fished from the Porta-bote. With the electric it got us easily where we needed to go, and with the fishfinder shooting through the hull of the boat we were able to locate the fish. First time I have attached the wheels to it, and they worked great, except coming up the hill was difficult in the muddy sand.
