Saturday, 12/09/06- Hit the water early (5:30am). Cool, calm morning. No one at the ramp but us. Motored through the dark to Las Vegas Wash. Did'nt think there would be any shad around to net but we took a look anyway. Confirmed our thoughts, then anchored out by the green buoy, in 40 feet of water, near the entrance to the wash. Chummed a ton and started soaking cut bait. Right away we started hauling in little (8 inch) stripers. Good sign! Pulled up anchor and headed out to the channel across from Hole 33. Dropped anchor in 70 feet of water. Cummed a ton and started soaking cut bait. Soon we were pulling in better fish ( 1-2 lbs.). Action was steady. We headed in when we ran out of frozen shad.
Had a blast today catching a bunch of small stripers. Sure beats staying at home with an ice pack on the knee. Only a couple other boats out today. Can't wait to do it again!
