[size 2]We've been experiencing what amounts to an ongoing denial of service attack against our server — essentially millions of phony (or phishing) hits directed at our Web server and Web application databases. During peak times of the day, it's overwhelming our Web site's ability to keep up. The network security people at the state capitol, I'm told, are investigating the problem and developing strategies to counter the attacks.
