Hit East Canyon today looking for slime rockets.
Ice was between 4-6".
Fishing was good from 0730-1230, turned off then, we left at 1400.
Between 5 of us caught about 30, missed about as many.
2 went 16", the rest about 12-14".
Jigging in 20-25 Feet, tipped with power bait, or not.
Ice cutter, orange, no split tail was the hot one, it would get hit on the way down many times.
Kept a bunch for the smoker, and 3 had a large number of crappie minnows, the rest only digested food.
Saw a number of bald eagles hunting...

Hey, we are thinking of heading up there Monday. Was there any open ice on the lake? Any other tips of where to go or what to use? I am planning on taking my wife and daughter so I would like to have some good success to keep them happy. Thanks for the help.

I will be up there Monday also. (New fish finder and auger to try out.) If the ice allows I will be somewhere around Taylor Hollow.

Taylor Hollow is a small bay on the north side of the lake. As you get up to where the dam is just keep following the road around the lake. Stay on that road all the way around. If you get to the resort you have passed it. There is a sign that identifies it. I will be driving a silver Pathfinder. I will be getting to the lake at about 7:15am. I will probably be by myself.

We are bringing a few people including my wife and daughter so we probably won't make it up there until mid morning sometime. Maybe that will give you some time to find all the fish. See you there.
