Pineview 1/10
#1
Fished the narrows today from about 9am to around 4pm and it was pretty slow. I tried quite a few different locations steadily working my way away from the dam but never found the fish. I did end up catching four pretty good sized crappie but not one single perch. Tried various different lures with both wax and meal worms but they just weren't interested.

I did get to meet three dwr guys (Paul, Craig, and I forget the name of the guy with the camera) that were there to do a video piece on the new two pole regulations as well as to highlight pineview. Paul and Craig were fishing and talking to the camera and the third guy got to go home with all the fish! They even got to film me bringing up my last fish of the day so we'll see if it makes the piece.

This was my first real experience with pineview and my first ever crappie so overall I would say it was a good experience and I hope to make it back at least one more time this winter.

I fished pineview today as well... I started at the narrows and didnt catch anything so we moved out by cemetary point... I ended up catching 20 and I missed a lot.. my buddy with me didnt catch one.. it was funny.. we were fishing ten feet apart with the same lures and bait and i was doing very well and he wasnt catching a thing.. it was a good day...

Were the they catching Perch or Crappie?
I have fished Pineview by Craig before and he knows a great spot for Perch.
I agree with some other posts that have said that Pineview is fishing like it was late Feburary and not early January.
It appears that the fish are moving out of the narrows and into the open body of water.

They caught one perch and a couple crappie and we were fishing in Craig's "spot". They were only there for maybe an hour and a half.

Did any of you guys see the car on the ice today???

Some guy drove his subaru hatchback out onto the ice and was sitting in it fishing out of the back... I am so surprised that it did not fall throught.. it was out by cemetary point...
