Holmes Creek yesterday with Kent
#1
I had a bad start to the day driving right by the turn to the reservoir. Snowing like a mother.
I got down to the ice and Kent was clear across the other end. I met up with him and set up the QFIII and drilled 2 holes. Within minutes i had a 14" slimer in the tent. Nothing for a while then another trout about 13". Shortly after i had a good hit on the vex and reeled up to it. BAM! 14" crappie![Smile] A bit later i got 2 small gills and some more slimers.
Kent started to take on water(he knows what i mean) so i offered the other side of the tent. He obliged and i think he was glad he did. Shortly after Kent came in i caught about a 9" perch! Over another 1 1/2 hours i caught another 8" crappie, about half dozen or more slimers and 2 more small gills. I had to leave unfortunately.
All fish were caught on a chartreuse ratso w/waxie, and a glow mister twister w/waxie. Water depth was about 32'. Ice was 6" or 7" and very solid.

What no catfish? I couldn't keep them off my hook a week ago. The largest being 25 inches.[cool]

There was another guy fishing there who said that he had fished it three days in a row. He showed us where he had caught a bunch of catfish the day before and that is the area that we fished. I think the low front that passed through may have shut them down. The primary reason that we fished it was to catch a nice catfish, but alas that was not to be.
