Went up this morning. Holy poo poo it was cold. Fished for about 2.5 hours and ended up with 40+ perch and 6 bluegill. I must say, the bluegill were quite a nice surprise. The fish were still biting when I was packing up, and I would have stayed, but I had other things to do today. I am still seeking the crappie that elude me. There were quite a few shelters on the ice (I'm now in the market) so it was hard to tell how others were doing. I did have one guy come by to see how I was doing. He and his buddy had one crappie between them. They quickly moved over by me when they saw I was catching fish. They ended up doing quite well. I was fishing the narrows, which I have heard has slowed down lately. My rig was an ice fly (hot pink head), tipped with a wax worm, 12" below a yellow accented swedish pimple. I guess the key is to move until you find fish. Catching fish sure does help keep the mind off the cold. Good luck to all.

Nice report. Glad you were able to smack around a few perch and gills. The narrows is VERY cold.... no sun, and the wind seems to come right through there. [Smile]

Good report. I didn't find the crappie yesterday, but the Perch made up for it. It was so cold with the wind blowing in the narrows, that I went home eariler than I normally do by 3 hours.
The pull start on my auger broke so I had a good excuse to leave.
