If you all had to rate the 3 best waters for Walleye from a float tube or man powered toone what would they be?

I am by no means any type of Walleye expert. With that said, from the info I get from here, I would say:
Starvation Utah Lake Willard. I am sure others may disagree. [ ![]() [signature]

[cool][#0000ff]Biggest....Utah Lake[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Most...Starvation (with some bigger ones coming on)[/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Wackiest...Willard...With June being almost a sure thing.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Don't overlook Deer Creek either. Sometimes a good bet.[/#0000ff] [signature]

UTAH LAKE. DEER CREEK, STARVATION. FISHED IN THAT ORDER. TWISTER TAILS IN UTAH. SASY SHADS AND RAPALAS IN DC AND JIG AND CRAWLER IN STARVATION.

[cool][#0000ff]The pike and the perch are eating all the young walleyes. That's a switch, huh?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I'm planning to do some iceout research.[/#0000ff] [signature]

SOME OF THE LOCALS DID PRITTY WELL LAST FALL. BUT THEY WOULDNT SHARE WHERE THE EYES WERE HANGING. SHOULD SEE MOORE FISH SCATTERED THIS YR.

[cool]That's kind of funny that you were fishing for 'eyes there and all you caught were wipers, 'cause during the tourney last year, I was fishing for Wipers and all I caught were 'eyes. Two of them, and boy were they tasty. Had two Wipers break me off right were the hooks go on BassAckwards, CBR's and my secret Willard lure. Bought some Gamakatsu's and much stronger rings to make sure that THAT doesn't happen again this year...

yeah that is a switch.. revange of the perch? watch out! lol
i did some on ice research for a couple days could not find any anywhere..tryed spots that were good in the good old days. but alass no walleye that i could find. not that i'm that good of a eye fisherman anyway.. a long walk for perch and pike.. i was thinking the same thing but i was going to troll for some pike this spring.. been seeing alot more pike in there the last 2 years then ever before.. should be getting some size to them soon.. [cool][#0000ff]The three year old class of pike are rounding the 30" mark now and there are some 16"ers coming on. There are a few BIG mamas that spawned the first year class and the 30"ers should be spawning this year. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I had independent reports from a couple of sources last spring and into early summer about both trout and perch spitting up baby walleyes. Also had a report of two different year class pike with both perch and walleye young in them.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I once read that because perch spawn before walleyes, that baby perch sometimes munch a lot of walleye fry before they can get big enough to turn the tables. And, larger perch will eat both young walleye and also baby perch. Really gives new meaning to the old saying "Eat or be eaten". In this case it is eat AND be eaten. That has always been the story at Yuba.[/#0000ff] [signature]

that X lure you use...would that be a prizm shad[
![]() i have tossed that one a few times up at deer creek and jordanelle up there its a smallie magnet!! [signature]

[cool]Nope, but good guess. Check your p.m.'s. The lure I'm speaking of is not known by many, and it only costs 1.99, and it's not something that you would have bought at Hooked, or any other "tackle" stores... I don't particularly fee like telling the rest of the board and certainly NOT the lurkers or there won't be any there the next time one of us goes to pick some up.

well now i am going to "that store" to buy some of "those lures" LOL...lurkers beware we can be more tight lipped than your favorite fish to catch!!!
really though, i am entering my 5th year of chasing walleyes with yet a bite to my name, i fish for wally and catch everything else by accident. TD says its from my stubborness to have my first from deer creek, i think this year ill toss that to the wind and hit up on U L or someplace still kinda close to SLC. I do alot around Heber area lakes cause my wifes family all live in park city..so i can be found up there a whole lot so if anyone needs a partner to go up to those places, i have a tube, boat (no trailer) and a bad attitude towards swimming things!! gimme a PM or email me, [url "mailto:badfishy4u@hotmail.com"]badfishy4u@hotmail.com[/url] [signature]

[cool][#0000ff]Close to SLC? Lots of wallies in the Jordan River. Try the canal outlet at Decker Lake sometime with small jigs or a crawler. Lots of white bass too. I have watched some real bozos catch both species there, seemingly with no idea what they were doing...or what they caught when they brought one in. ("Is this a carp?")[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Just for the record, walleye fishing and girl chasing are a lot alike. You succeed in inverse proportion to the amount of time, money and stress you invest in the chase. Just chill out. It will happen.[/#0000ff] [signature]

I am really excited for soft water wally action. My gramps and I have sworn to figure them out at DC this spring. Last year we could only hook up with smallies. I have studied up on some new areas and tricks for the creek. we have caught them in utah lake for years, but I am not a fan of the water conditions there. I will post a pic of my first walleye trip when I was 10, we SLAYED them at bird island on white 3" curly tail grubs. Willard should be a blast in a tube until the boats get back on, then I'll be in a boat. I would love to hook up with somone on a boat or tube trip on deer creek for walleye. We nail the trout every time, just can't figure out the 'eyes.

I hear ya about DC walleyes. I know your pain i have caught some there but i never really targeted them like i did at yuba. Since yuba is not even worth fishing for walleyes DC will be the place i will hit the most and then willard. I plan on doing some all day recon at DC this spring right at ice off.[

If you figure out the eyes in DC, your really on to somthing. I have fished DC hardcore for over 12 years for walleye and I still haven't figured um out. I've found some good haunts that produce some good fish, but not consistantly. the spawn start around mid. April and the best fishing is in June. night fishing in july can be very good. later chuck

I mainly fish for them after dark, until 1 or 2 in the morning. I leave my trailer down there all summer. I switch between cranks and plastics. I usually pick up some nice bass and an occassional trout as well. Lots of fun and you don't have to worry about the D--- skiers. There are 1/2 doz. or so other guys that fish them out there after dark as well. Hope this helps. [cool]
