Fished the narrows today. Not as fast as earlier in the season, but I still managed 25-30 perch. Fished in ~25-40 feet of water. I know a lot of people say you need to be deep for the perch, but I did just as well in the shallow water as the deep. Wax worms, perch eyes and a combination of the two did well today. Some were very picky. I had to get the bait right on them to get a bite. You will need a plank if you want to get on the ice.

Thanks for posting your report Dwight, sounds like you had a good day on the ice. How big were the perch, any over 10 "? WH2

I caught several large perch. What's better is that I only caught a few dinks. I didn't measure them so I don't know exact lengths.

How is the ice along the edges holding up?

The edges are very soft (you will go through) for about the first 6'. Like I said, you will need a plank to get on the ice. I've heard that the edges at Cemetary are better, but I never made it over there.
