2007 FISHING FORECAST MEETING IN COLORADO SPRINGS
#1
The Colorado Division of Wildlife invites anglers to participate in an "Angler Roundtable" meeting in Colorado Springs. This public forum will give anglers, and those interested in regional fisheries, a chance to learn about the latest information affecting their fishing in waters around southern Colorado and to ask questions of fishery biologists from the DOW.

"This will be a great opportunity to get together with anglers and find out how their fishing has been and to give them some information on what the DOW predicts for this fishing season," said Doug Krieger, Senior Fisheries Biologist for the Southeast Region.

Attendees will be given a summary of the best bets for fishing on lakes and streams in 2007 as prepared by regional fishery biologists. Other topics to be discussed include fish stocking plans, water levels, fish population data, fishing access, regulations, whirling disease, high lake management and any other fishery related issues that the public is interested in.

Anglers are encouraged to bring questions they have about fishing and about their favorite lakes and streams.

The forum will be held on Monday, March 19 at the DOW office located at 4255 Sinton Road, just south of Garden of the Gods and east of I-25. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is the state agency responsible for managing wildlife and wildlife habitat, as well as providing wildlife related recreation and maintaining a balance between human activities and wildlife. The Division of Wildlife's primary funding comes from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses and the habitat fees collected in conjunction with those sales. The Division does not receive tax dollars from the state's general fund.
