It's been a good week!!!
#1
I went down to Texas for 9 days to fish Lake Fork, 'Big Bass Capital' as they call it in Texas. I did nothing but fish and maybe some drinking too...It was good time had by all. We were about a week early as the big females were still hanging back but the males were extremely aggressive guarding the beds. I even had one attack my flipper but couldn't get him to bite my brush hog, go figure.
Water temp was in the high 50's some 60's in the back of the bays. At night we would go fishing for crappie and catch yellow bass, white bass, and catfish too. The biggest cat going 15.5 lbs and a white bass that was 2.3 lbs.
The largemouth averaged about 3.5 lbs with my biggest only being 7.1 lbs. The highlight of my trip was buying my new boat that I didn't even take to Fork, way too many stumps for me! I could post a thousand pics but here are a few.

[#0000ff]Too bad the timing was off a bit. Woulda been nice to be able to put a 20 pound mama in the research tank.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Since most folks hit that lake for the bass, the "other fish" are really not bothered much. Actually a pretty good multi species lake.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Ready for some walleyes?[/#0000ff]

Fork is only about an hour from the Dallas/Fort Worth airport (DFW). It seems like the middle of nowhere once you get there, it's surrounded by farmland. I had my 7' rod tube with oars and the frame for my toon all strapped together, you should have seen the looks I got at the airport. I was worried that they would give me a hassle about it but my suitcase was 4 lbs. over and so luggage guy was freakin' about that, never even paid attention to my contraption, I should have got a pic of that!
And yes, TD, I'm ready for the 'eyes. I just need a finder to mount on the bow before I hit LB. I've lost enough jigs to rocks, they're not going to get my boat too.
