I traveled south down the west Flaming Gorge road, Hwy 530, stopping to check open water conditions on the way.
Buckboard- still some ice, mostly north of the launch. Launch should be open within a day or two.
Holmes Crossing- open water, boats launching
Lucerne- very little ice in Linwood Bay, boats launching.
Sheep Creek- open water, boats launching.
Mustang/Cedar Springs- open water as far as Jarvies Canyon(what I could see) and of course, boats launching.
As you can see from the pictures, the reservoir was like glass today. Some ice is visible near shore and in the backs of some canyons, but barely holding on.
As some of you know, [#ff0000]Asian mussels[/#ff0000] have recently been documented in the Lower Colorado River basin. We don't need these invaders in anymore of our Western reservoirs, so take the necessary precautions before launching your boat if you've been in or near infected waters. Hope it helps, and good luck!
