Glassman's Pond with the kids 4/19
#1
Well, week 1 of 6 with the kids is done.

Hookjaw talked me into helping out with the program this year, and I really enjoyed the 1st week. After getting all the registering done and T-shirts passed out, we had a demo on the improved clinch knot... I won't comment on the teacher... All I will sat is.. wow... [laugh]

I volunteered to teach an intermediate class, flyfishing. Things went well, but with so little space, it was hard for the kids. They learned a little entomology (sp?) and a little about casting. They were all chomping at the bit to go fishing, so off we went with the bait rods... not enough room for them to cast with a fly rod. Fishing was pretty slow... A few bluegill and that was it. It was supposed to be stocked with trout, but apparently it didn't happen. Hopefully by next week.

Glad you decided to do it. Those kids will keep these memories for as long as they live. I wish i could have volunteered but another job got in the way.[unimpressed]
