2007 Early Goose Season begins September 4 and ends September 25. Bag limit is 5 birds/day. Other migratory bird seasons will be set at the August public hearing held by the Fish & Wildlife Board. See the Public Hearings area of the website for location and time.
Report any banded migratory birds to www.reportband.gov or 1-800-327-BAND (2263)
State and federal duck stamps are required of all Massachusetts waterfowl hunters. State stamps cover the entire calendar year, federal stamps are valid July 1 through June 30. State duck stamps are not required for hunting woodcock, snipe, rail or coots.
All migratory bird hunters must have a HIP (Harvest Information Program) number. You must have a hunting license in order to get the free HIP number. Call 1-800-WETLAND (938-5263) to get the number. You will need to complete a voice survey of any past migratory bird hunting activities. Online license buyers can complete the HIP survey on the MassOutdoors website.
