Wildlife Division Chief Accepts Position with Safari Club International Foundation

Washington, D.C. - William E. Moritz of Lansing, Michigan has been named the new Conservation Program Manager for Safari Club International Foundation (SCIF) in Washington, D.C. Moritz will manage all domestic and international conservation programs, specifically in Africa, Asia and North America.

Moritz will begin his new career at SCIF on September 15.

Moritz served as the Wildlife Division Chief for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the past three years. He was previously the Assistant Wildlife Division Chief and the Deer Research Specialist for Michigan. Moritz also worked as a private wildlife consultant and produced technical materials on a wide variety of issues.

"We are very excited to add Bill's experience and expertise," said Dennis Anderson, SCI and SCIF President. "His sound science approach to wildlife will be key as we advance our conservation programs around the world."

Moritz earned his bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology at Iowa State University, a Masters Degree in the same field at Montana State, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from Southern Illinois University. He also studied Public Affairs while at Southern Illinois. His specializations are in migratory waterfowl, upland game and ungulate population dynamics.
