Pahvant Elk
#1
I had a chance to go Elk hunting with my dad this last week. He put in for the Pahvant for over 16 years and he finally drew this year.
We looked at alot of nice bulls but nothing was what he wanted. Well we finally found this nice Bull and it was worth the wait. We scored him at 399 3/8 inches He would of been even bigger if he wouldn't of broke off a couple of his points. When we first saw him he still had all his points. But we also watched him fight off 3 other bulls that night. But it was a great hunt and I was glad to see him take such a nice animal. He finally got his once in a lifetime bull.

What a whopper! I'll bet that was a fantastic hunt. The thing is huge. What is his spread?

There have been some great bulls taken off of the Pahvant this year, and it looks like you guys found another fabulous bull. Tell your dad congrats.

I don't know the exact dimension I'll let you know when I find out. All I know is his total score. But the score is still unoffical. My dad is going to have him officially scored as soon as he can. What score do you have to have to make Boon and Crocket?

I think you need a 360 score to go boone and crocket. I could be wrong but there is no doubt your dads will make it in the record book.

Check out this link for the official B&C scoring page. Lots of good info here right from the horses mouth. You will have to wait 60 days from the date of kill to have it scored officially.

360 typical will get you into the awards category. I can't remember what will get you into the all time category, but 385 rings a bell.

Great Bull, congrats to your dad and you being there to enjoy the hunt with him. I think his bull will have to net in the 380's to make book, should look great on the wall.

I've been hunting most of my life but have yet to shoot a big bull elk. If your dad has a "list of things to do before I die", I would bet that this item was on there! I know it is on my list.
Congrats!
