Those wanting to discuss proposed facility changes at Harmonie State Park should plan to attend the Dec. 5 open house at Thrall's Opera House, scheduled by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
The address for the meeting, which runs 3 to 6 p.m., is 618 Church Street, in the town of New Harmony.
Proposed changes include relocating the day-use horse trails from the current location to an area adjacent to the Wabash River and adding mountain bike trails to the southern portion of the park. Additional overnight facilities are also being considered in the southern portion of the park.
The proposed new location for the horse trails would provide longer trails than those currently available. The mountain bike trails would be a new facility addition to the park. No mountain bike trails are currently available.
