Iced fished Sportman's Park at American Falls for a couple hours in the afternoon. I only caught perch. It was steady action and I was able to bring home enough for perch for a meal but it was much better a few weeks ago. I think it would have been better fishing early in the morning. The weather was nice in the afternoon though. The edges were soft but the ice in the bay was still over 20" thick. I wouldn't go to American Falls without a board to get on the ice.
Fished Crystal springs pond for about an hour an a half. Once again the planters were not too difficult to fool as long as you switch things up and give them something different to look at. We caught most of them on spinners, small dry flies or small nymphs.
McTucker Ponds are still completely covered with ice. Shouldn't be long before it starts breaking up but I wouldn't be surprised if there was still a little ice on the McTucker Ponds a couple weeks from now.
Springfield still has some ice on the South end of the main lake but overall the water at Springfield is around 90% ice free. I only took about 1/2 hour to fish Springfield and was able to catch a couple of the small brown trout that were planted in there last fall.
