[#ff0000][Image: fish-on.gif]Georgetown, Winyah Bay, [/#ff0000][#000000]I have never been but just past the bridge on 17 from Pawly's going into Gorgetown. I keep hearing about Winyah Bay and redfish. Do you have to have a boat to get to it? Is there a place to go fishing other then the old bridge beside 17 going into Gorgetown? I stoped there once to look it over but never fished there. I would like to fine another fishing hole if you know what I mean. Some where I can drive to and maybe fish a bridge or a inlet to the ocean. Something like Pawly's. Is there a place like that? By the way how's everyone?[/#000000]

I'm sure there has got to be somewhere other than the bridge to fish in the bay. I know i've fished on that old bridge many times, but i've never fished it anywhere else. Maybe someone will chime in on this one. I'd be interested in a land spot myself. I use to know a few places in pawleys, but it's been so long since i've been there, I probably couldn't tell you how to get there. But, you probably already know all the spots there. It's true though, Winya Bay has excellent fishing. It's a shame it can be so trecherous. I'm affraid to put my boat in there.

On your side note, i'm getting over a cold. LOL [Tongue] Hopefully, another couple days of Vitamin C and fluids, and i'll be ready to go. I haven't been fishing in too many months, and i'm ready to do it. I just installed a two battery system in my big boat, and i'm hunting a good trailer for my little boat. I have a couple more things to handle and i'll be ready to go, mostly minor stuff. Other than that, 2 bad little boys, a mean wife, and honey-do list as long as my leg; i'm in good shape. LMAO!!!!!!!!! What about you man? How's things going your way?

My wife doesn't fish, so no dice there. I think the biggest thing with that is she gets sea sick pretty easy. She's OK on the river sometimes, but she doesn't like the fact that there is no where for her to use the bathroom. LOL, you know, there are a bunch of women out there that love the sport and are willing to do what ever it takes to hit the water, including peeing in the woods or a bucket, and braving the summer heat; but my wife isn't one of them. I wish they made a fishing pill, you know, like viagra. But instead of getting in the mood for loving, you get in the mood for fishing. LMAO!!!!! I'd buy stock in it. [Wink] The thing is, she likes catching fish. She caught this big flat head catfish one year, and she couldn't hide the big Smile she had afterwards. She'd never admit she had fun, but we all know she did. This was like a 45 pound flathead.

I know i'm ready to hit the big salty pond. I just finished doing an upgrade to my boat, and i'm more than ready. I've got a little reel maintenance to finish up, and i'm pretty much done. I'm going to install a downrigger on the boat before the season starts too. I really plan on giving the king mackeral hell this spring.

Let me know if you want to slide out sometime. I'll shoot you a PM when i'm planning a run. [cool]

T bone what are the chances you could get a Kayak? If your like me and cant really afford to buy a Fishing boat...I would really look into buying a sea yak. You can get single or 2 seater so your wife could fish with you too. I spent years fishing from the bank/surf/piers and had alot of fun doing it....BUT once a got in a yak I found so many places that most boats cant get to...It really opens up alot of windows for fishing. I have not heard many reports on Gtown but the trout bite in charleston is really picking up. If your using live bait I would go with shrimp or mullet on a falling tide. If spin fishing go with some topwater stuff. If you think you might be interested in the kayak fishing let me know cause I know of a few used boats for sale. Goodluck I hope we all have a great fishing season ahead of us!!

The answer is yes. I have 2 kayaks. I have had them for about 5 yr. now. I take them up on the new river , state line of N.C. and Va. I have though of taking them to the beach but don't have enought room in the truck after packing for a week , unless I make it a trip just for that. But it is a good ideal.

Thats great T-bone. Let me know when your next trip to the coast is. Maybe we can hook up and do some Yak fishing together. I cant wait to get back down to the coast. If all works out like planned I will be spending the summer down there!![Image: fish-on.gif]
