Haven't fished Deer Creek in the last week or so. But if you are fishing for trout there are several good places. Hike in over by the Wallsberg Creek and fish the North east shore. Also west of Dock of the Bay. You can park your car on the hiway and hike down. It's a little steep, but not to bad. Look for the well used spots (you can't miss them, they will be the ones with the trash left behind). All along there for about 200 yards has been OK this spring. There are some holes that produce really well, if you find one you'll know it. Also the west side of the island has been picking up. As for what to use seems that power bait is the number one getter, followed by worms (nightcrawlers). The bass and (are there any of these) Walleyes have been slow to non-exsistant for me yet this year. If you can jig or don't mind casting them Dark colorsin the morning and evening are working and nothing has for me during mid-day. Raplas in rainbow and pearch has also produced for me. I haven't been able to convince them to hit any of my flies as yet, but I am working on it.
