Our team took overall top boat at the 54th International Billfish Tournament in San Carlos, Sonora Mexico this past weekend.
We released two sails, two striped marlin after a double hookup and weighed three nice dorado. The boat is a Tiara 2700 Open which proves you don't have to be a battlewagon to catch fish! Complete story at the tournament forum

Bart Waldo
Vista Communications

Hey way to go Bart.

I agree, and the fish don't care about the size of your boat either hey?

Just goes to show that it's what happens in the boat that most often counts. Great effort!

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve B
Moderator Lures/Baits Forum
http://www.demonjigs.com

Capt Dan
You are right about Sunday. The area we fished on all 3 days was about 30 miles out in an area of very deep water for the Sea of Cortez called the Volcano. We had 4-6 ft seas on the way out and we were soaked-express boats can be a bit wet. We were glued to the radio all day hoping for a knockdown and trying to keep track of all the other leading boats. We got a scare when one reported a billfish hookup and then came back and reported the fish lost. One by one they went in and we were one of the few boats out and none of the others were going to catch us. :-)
I might add that this team has fished this event for the past 3 years with a 5th, 4th and now a first place finish. I'm very proud of my teammates and my skipper-he did a great job of putting us on fish. An old nearsighted guy, I'd kill to have his vision. But it was a great team effort and that is really what it's all about.
Thanx

Bart Waldo
Vista Communications
