Hello everyone!
My girlfriends father just took me out fishing a few days ago on his boat out of Keyport, NJ. We caught about 5 fluke but no keepers. My longest was 16.5 inches!! My second fish I ever caught!
So I would like to get into fishing now that he is looking for a slip for his boat! I'd like to pick up some of my own gear so I'm looking for a nice rod/reel combo. I was using a Skakespeare. We just put it out over the boat and pressed a button and the line went all the way to the bottom. I wish I knew what type of reel that was.
Today, I went to the store and bought this pole. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/produc...Id=1422792
Now that I look at it online, it's used for Freshwater.
Can I still use this pole out on the boat for fluke or bluefish and such?
If not, can someone recommend a good cheap combo please.
Thanks for all your help and helping out the newb!
