setting the hook with plastic worms and jigs

well i always lose fish when i fish jigs and plastic worms i have the worm texas riged and he jig has a crawdad trailer on it. i set the hook almost immeaditley when im fishing any advice will help thanks

Let the bass run a few feet before you set the hook. They may have the lure by the tail so to speak before they inhale it. But I have had days like you say that they just won't take a hook. Drives me nuts.

I was having problems with the same thing last weekend, 3 times I'd get a bite but not hook them and when I got the plastic roboworm back in the last 1" to 2" was missing on it, I've had trouble getting them to take the whole thing in

You may want to consider tying on a stinger hook.[cool]

A stinger hook is a good idea. I usually use Gamakatsu hooks but I like these for stinger hooks [url "http://www.ramseyoutdoor.com/products/details.aspx?g=freshwater+fishing&sg=terminal+tackle&ssg=&pid=101ZS&bid=TRUTURN&rid=3"]stinger hook[/url] .
If I can avoid using them I will. Try to let the bass turn away with it and then set the hook.
