I'm Back!
#1
Well I guess my move to Phoenix didn't last long...

I took the promotion as operations manager, and it was great! I loved my new position and the people I was working with.

After six months I finally moved my wife and kids out. Then all of a sudden my wife decided that she didn't want to be married anymore. She couldn't give me any reason.

Long story short I got the kids, and had to quit my career to move back to Vegas. I needed the help from my family with my kids. It would cost me over $600 a week in Phoenix for child care. That is for 60+ hours a week for a 1 year old, and a 3 year old. So here I am trying to put my life back together.

Getting to the point I am taking my boat out and going fishing/camping on the 8th through the 10th. I know that things might have changed since Thanksgiving (the last time I fished Lake Mead). Can anyone tell me what ramps are still open (closest to henderson)? Also any other info like if anyone is netting shad and where. Hot spots?

Thanks,
Bill

Hemenway Harbor is open for launch, as is Caulville Bay (but is generally busy on weekends and a nightmare), and I believe you can still launch at the old LM Marina cove, but I havent been down there in over a month so Im not positive.

Sorry to hear about your hardtimes. Woman [mad]

Welcome back! Look forward to seeing you on the lake.

Former Las Vegas Marina boat ramp is open but under construction with improvements being made. Not bad on the weekdays.

A little early for netting shad. This time of year look for surface activity, slurps, boils, etc. Jig deep after any surface activity vanishes. There is also good old cut bait at night. Mornings are calm with a lot of boats running around. Afternoons are hot with the watersport crowd, and a great chance of wind. The lower basin should provide excellent fishing.Your upcoming trip to Lake Mead should be great. Good luck!
