Wacky jigheads, to the best of my knowledge were basically invented by Jackal for use with their Flick Shake worms. Wacky Jigs and Flick Shake worms are supposedly a fishing craze in Japan. Google or Yahoo search for it and see.

Shaky Head is another jighead designed for a worm, but Texas-Rig hooking style rather than Wacky. Shaky Head jigheads usually have a bigger hook and a method of securing the head of the worm to the jighead. Usually a 5 to 7 inch straight-tailed worm us used. The worm dances around with its head down and tail up. I really like Shaky Head when bass are hugging the bottom. Strikes are easy to detect and it seems to get stuck less than Texas-Rig.

Regular jigheads are generally not great to use with worms, in my opinion. They're good for grubs in areas with little vegetation or submerged timber.
