I have a pac 800 outcast and was wondering if there is any way I can paint it/ dye it to another color and still have it look professional? Is there anyone that does this? Any help would be appreciated.

The fact it is inflateable I am going to say no on the professional look, but you could paint it. TD has.
But WHY?

There are many hobby and craft stores that have fabric paint and would be suitable for what you want to do.
If you are a "Do it Yourself" type of person, Jo Anns carries these types of paints.
TubeDude can probably tell you where he purchased his paints.[cool]

The Outcast is the smooth cover isn't it? Like it is already got the PVC coating. That would be hard to paint unlike a cloth would (like on the SFC or FC)

I just wanted to see if anybody had done it. I think it would be sweet to have a black one, I wanted to see if there was any way to do it.

[cool][#0000ff]As has been suggested, there are special fabric paints and dyes that will work. The best products are probably the "heat set" types, that require you to "bake" the fabric for a period of time to insure long lasting color fastness.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I experimented with several "brush on" paints, to create designs...like the shark mouth on the pic below.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Unfortunately, I did not find any paint that would hold up long under water, sun and flexing before it cracked and peeled off. This included some pricy auto vinyl paints and exotic brush on fabric paints designed for making canvas signs.[/#0000ff]

when TN2 gave me his old caddis tube to use he said it might need a little paint on the orange part (it had faded to almost nothing).. I ended up getting some safety orange fabric paint from a craft shop Michaels) and sprayed it on the area that needed it.. it is not perfect by any means (runs etc.. but that is my fault).. but it did the job for me.. and in this case it will hopefully keep me a little safer when on the water..

That shark mouth is awesome! It would be cool if there was a way to do it and have it stay.
I guess I will have to wait til they start putting out novelty pontoons[sly]

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks. I kinda thought it was cool too. But, it didn't do much to keep away the PWC crowd or the skiers...but my RPG launcher sure did.[/#0000ff]
