Anyone use stripping baskets while floating?

So I've been doing a lot of fly fishing recently from my 'toon, but have been having a problem with the line getting all over the place. It refuses to understand that I want it to stay in the apron.

Does anyone use a strap-on basket while floating?

Any reason why I couldn't/shouldn't?

No reason. The ones used for rivers and surf however, will be sitting kinda high.
I use a basket on my left side. A plastic basket for water drainage I bought at Wally World. Works for me, but I don't have an apron for my pontoon.
