Fishing Pole

Hi. I am new to this forum. And occasional i go fishing at beaches, lakes, and rivers. but i usually fish for stripers. So where would i set my pole down after i cast? do you guys have stands or anything? if so do you know where i can buy one? thanks i'm a noob.

[font "Garamond"][#008000][size 4]Hi there D_Nihc - I made my own rod holder from a piece of metal tubing affixed to a length of rebob. I generally stick it in the sand, mud whatever about 3' from the waters edge. At the ocean it distance may vary depending which way the tide is moving. Here is one available at retail. Some folks use a cow bell [tiny bell] to warn them of activity. I have also used a small float attached to a bit of slack line bewteen guides. If a fish hits my bait the float will fly off the line.[/size][/#008000][/font]
