Inshore fishing equipment advice for Caymans needed
#1
I'm going to be down in the Caymans for three months for work...and I hope to do a good deal of inshore/surf fishing. I'm trying to figure out the right combo for conditions down there - I'm restricted as to the amount of gear I can carry, so I'm probably going to go with a 7' 4 piece Eagle Claw/Cabelas rod, rated only to about 20#/heavy, which is about the heaviest-duty pack road I can find.

My question is this - what's going to be the best Avet casting reel for this kind of setup?

I'll be headed to Amazonian Peru to fish some rivers later in the year, and am hoping to use the same setup there...but I might have to just buy more gear.

Your thoughts much appreciated...

That set up sounds pretty good. I have some of the Avet SX reels that have landed fish from 3/4 lb up to 141 lbs. They are versatile as long as you set the cast control properly for each different weight that you are going to cast.[cool]
