Hit the water with Alex this morning after a long dry spell. We showed up at Callville at about 5:45am to beautiful glassy water and an even better looking sunrise.

We headed out and started throwing Zara Puppies and Skitter Pops with no love. Switched over to drop-shotting and dragging Texas rigged worms, and started catching fish.
First fish of the day was a pretty little smallmouth I pulled up on the drop shot.

(keep in mind, that's a size 13 boot) [

Next fish up was Alex's accidental catfish that inhaled his Texas rigged power-worm. Didn't really expect that one.

Fishing continued with a few other smallies, and a couple nice largemouths.

And the biggest bass of the day went to Alex. Nothing huge, but it tipped the scales at over 1 1/2 lbs. Very nice fish with some impressive acrobatics.

Hit the shoreline for a leg stretch (that's my new kayak). Notice the glassy water at 11:00am. Gotta love the fall.

Fished for a little bit longer for nada and called it a day. Back at the launch at about 12:30.
Just as calm leaving as it was when we showed up (with the exception of a few extra boats).

Great day out there. Only spilled beer to complain about...
