outlwed lures
#1
All my life I have been told that lures with more than 3 treble hooks are outlawed. is this true?
I cant seem to find the law anywere on national or state laws.
My grandpaw has a few older woden lures with glass eyes with anywere from 4 to 5 treble hooks atatched to them from manufacture. there realy old, i'm figuring pre 1940 stuff. Any way him and several other people have told me that those lures were outlawed some years back, not that I would ever use them, cause there worth a good bit of money.

I can only speak for Utah where I live but they do have a law that only allows the use of two hooks on any one line.

I live in mississippi and fish here and out of louisiana sometimes.
I'm sure the law has to be there but I cant find any evedence of it. I should probly call up wild life and fisheries and see if they can give me the regulation code.

That would probably be the easiest although even they sometime just believe something is a law without ever really seeing it in print. I would ask them where I could find it for myself to read after they answer your question. Good luck.
