I hit Rigby Lake this evening for about an 1 1/2 hours. I got five rainbows on white paddle bugs. I do not think I was in the best spot as I saw some people pulling out a few more in other spots. I did not find any of the really deep water. Had one banana trout on and broke off. All the other rainbows were 11-12" stockers.

What depth were they biting at? I think I'll be heading there on Monday or sometime next week.

I caught 3 in 7' and 2 in 12' of water. I could not find the deeper holes. Maybe the other people who were fishing were already covering those spots.

Windriver it sounds like Scott and I should have tried Rigby Lake or Roberts. Mud Lake was dead for us. We were entertained by a lone duck that would circle us and then land close by. Scotts dog nearly caught it in the air when we were getting ready to leave.

Glad you got on Rigby Lake Windriver. I have been fishing in about 17 feet of water and it has done well. For 1.5 hours you did well, and sorry about the banana. I will likely be out early Monday morning with my son, near the boat ramp if anyone wishes to stop by and say hello.

WIndriver, I think you saw the last banana in there and somebody else has since caught it. I checked for two hours today and there are no bananas left [laugh][pirate][sly].

Update 12-22-08:
My son and I got to Rigby Lake early and did well with 23 bows, no bananas[:/] Met Christhefish, and his group seemed to be doing well. Word has gotten out about Rigby Lake, left just before 12:00 and counted 14 ice fisherman--incomparison last Saturday I was the only one out there. Good deal lets put pressure on it, so we can have another fishing hole with easy access!

I caught 8 or 9 or so. It was starting to pick up right as I had to leave. One thing that was cool that I noticed was in my shalower holes if I put my face right down close to the water I could see the bottom crystal clear (there's weeds down there). I could see the fish coming up and inspecting my jigs etc. that was interesting.

Ok so I finally got a banana this morning, it took me 4 trips to get one (two ice fishing). The bite was pretty hot for about two hours from 9 to 11 then it died. All in all I caught about 20 or so, the biggest being the 16 inch banana.

Congrats on the Banana. I will have to find my picture of the trophy Gold Fish I caught at the nature pond a couple of years ago.

You say it peaked at 9 and died at 11. Look at the Weather Channel fishing forecast. It mirrors your report exactly. I have never been too keen on the fishing forecasts until I found this one. It proved accurate most of the time this past summer, especially for kokanee. Mike

Wow that's cool! I never pay too much attention to those either, maybe I will in the future.
A couple of years ago, my wife's grandpa and I were musky fishing in Wi, and we would only go out for about an hour at a time in his boat, but we would go out right when it said to on the chart, and every time we went out we each caught at least one fish. Everybody else on the lake, including those participating in a musky turnament going on at the same time, that we talked to weren't catching any at all. So I think there is something to the charts. Does anybody know why exactly they work?
Thanks for showing me that.
