I took a quick trip out to A.F. for a few hours this afternoon. Fishing was not good. I fished the section off the boat launch at the dam. Ice was a clear solid 6" . I talked to a few guys who had fished it all morning and they hadn't touched a fish. I moved around to several depths trying to mark fish with the vex but not much there. Some fish on the bottom straight out from the boat ramp in about 35 feet of water. I figure they were schools of small perch. Nothing like a skunk to end the year on.

Hey Drshen I think I was one of those guys that fished all morning. You talked to my buddy Monte. Good to see some other guys from this board out on the ice. I guess I should have come over and talked to you. I have been out there 4 or 5 times this year and it has been pretty slow. Nothing like last year. Eventually I hope I can hit the bonanza like last year. That was some slick conditions huh? I went straight to Sportsman's and picked up some boot cleats. That stuff worked muscles I didn't know I had.

Man thats too bad; just to let you know I have had days like that on AF, and sometimes 4-5 hours a patience can come through with a big hog, or a skunk. Glad your trying, and I appreciate the report.

Right on Dixokai, that was me that talked to Monte. Good call on the ice cleats... I think if the wind was blowing it would have been like riding one of those moving walkways at the airport. I'm sure we will see each other out on the ice again. Happy New Year.
