My friend and co-worker Kyle and I were off work today and decided last week it'd be a good time to hook up and go fishing. The whites didn't show me any love yesterday and I wasn't sure what this cold front was doing to the cats, so I let Kyle decide..."would you rather not catch white bass or not catch cats". Kyle said he'd rather not catch a bunch of whites, so that's what we did. We hit the tialrace around 9:30 and immediately Kyle boated a monstah white...several drifts later without a bite, we headed downriver. We battled the wind, fished hard, and coaxed about 10 eaters in the boat before heading in. Not a stellar day, by any means. The bright spot of the trip was a chunky monkey of a spotted barse with a bad attitude that Kyle caught on a jig. The cabela grip-n-weigh showed it to be slightly under 4 lb.s(didn't have any digitals in the boat.)
