Eric and I ran down to South Sauty for our first stop and threw the ususal with no takers, no problem, as we knew it would get better. Went a little further down river, same result. This pattern held for way to long, as we covered a ton of area and threw the Plano at 'em with the same result. We started working our way back up river, looking for anything including dead fish on the bank. Nothing, nada, nowhere. Finally at 1:15, we pull up on a shallow point with a tree top and I toss the XR75 into it and get hit right on the surface and we now have our first fish in the boat. It was short but the skunk was out of the boat. Eric goes right back in with a jerk bait and hooks with our best fish (4&#43Wink and we finally have something to get excited about. Three cast later Eric hooks up again (3 lb) and we're starting to hit our stride. Unfortunately, our five minutes of fame were over and we never could duplicate that pattern. I don't ever remember having so many fish slap at the bait without getting hooked. Nonetheless, it was a great day on the water with a good friend. Thanks Eric.
Also, I wanted to thank everyone for their patience in dealing with the conjestion at the ramp. We had no idea there would be three tx's going out of there, but all-in-all, everyone did a really good job of coping. I'm sure we will improve in the upcoming events, but I offer a special thanks to the other committee members as it seemed everyone enjoyed it as I know I did. Great job, guys!!emoCool
On a final note... thanks to all that fished, especially the newcomers, and I encourage you to join us in continuing to make the CFF a great site by contributing with your knowledge and experience. Thanks!!!emoCool Al
