Bprice, Guntersville, Bass - A Nice Bag, 3/9/09, Hammer
#1
<br /> What a day... Met my girlfriend's dad at Waterfront this morning around 6:45 a.m. We decided to fish down river, because we were both sick of fishing upriver, so we focused between Mill Creek and Town Creek. We started the day out near Mill Creek and located active fish relating to hard bottoms with sparse grass. Water temps in the morning were in the 53 degree range, we boated 10 keepers within the first hour, with several 3.5 lbers and a nice 4.5 lber. We moved down river after breakfast was over and located some very warm water and got onto the fish in the similar areas, we found water ranging between 60-66 degrees in and between Seibold and Town. I was honestly shocked with seeing 66 degree temps, and our better fish came from those areas. We bagged a 6.5, 5.5, and along with the earlier 4.5 lber we added several bass in the 3.5 - 4 lb class. We'll go conservative and say we had 23-24 lbs. We boated 25 keepers today and 6 throwbacks. Most fish threw up shad in or close to the boat. We caught fish on rattlebaits, lizards, pacacraws, spinnerbaits, and cranks. Hard bottom w/ bait was key. What a day, the best day of bass fishing I've ever had. It was an awesome and beautiful day on Guntersville!!
