Got over there this morning and just too much wind for Andy (he doesn't have a motor yet) so we went to Cove Arm.
Got on the water around 9:30 am (2 hour drive from Twin)Still had some wind from the East but managable. Water temp was 40-42. A curly tail called lemon moraign (sp) has been good for crappie, so thats what we had on. tipped with night crawler. I tied up a roadrunner with the similar colors. [inline "Hot lure for the day.JPG"] Marked alot of fish when we were over 20-35 feet of water, but didn't feel any takers except the 22" carp on my new light weight spin casting rod, it was awesome. [inline "22 inches.JPG"] Around noon I moved into 10-14 foot water and started getting some perch. Pictures to follow. [inline "average perch.JPG"] [inline "pig of the day.JPG"] [inline "14 total.JPG"] Around 1 my feet were cold enough so I went in and we headed home about 2. It was cool but a good day fishin[fishin] [signature]

So did ya think ya had on big ol' smallie when you hooked that carp?
![]() Nice little mess of perch! No crappies eh? I overheard a couple of guys at Sportsman's saying they were catching crappies there too. I will probably go try Strike next weekend. I have my 'toon just about ready. I painted the frame with gray hammer finish this evening after the conferance I attended. I'll put all it back together tomorrow after church & I should be ready! I wasn't sure but I thought it might be a big cat fish, but it was an excellent fight[cool]
No crappie but I do think we were over them, just didn't find the right presentation I guess. They did catch some out in the river though, 8"ers, butm none for us. If the water warms up some more things are going to start happening[ ![]() You find the crappie for me [ ![]() [signature]

Those are some great perch. They usually become very difficult to catch as their stomachs get bigger.
We haven't caught many around here in a month. Windriver [signature]

Hey I am impressed with the perch idaho. Nice job and sounded like a great way to start off the Spring fishing. An old timer who fishes CJ Strike told me the early catfishing starts in April and May and begins to heat up in June through September.
