Dr Phil and I went to Watts Bar tailwaters to see if the stripers had shown up yet. The flow was perfect, plenty of 2" threadfin everywhere, abundance of gulls sitting around on the rip rap squawking, and water temp 48.6. Everything was perfect but the water temp and no fish. No stripers, no drum, no white bass, no spotted bass, no catfish. Not a single bite in 2 hours of fishing. Dr Phil did catch a fish scale that was about the size of a nickel, but that was it for us. I did see my good friend, striper guide Steve Baker. He never had a bite either. I was surprised that we didn't at least catch something. I looked around a time or two just to make sure that Fat Albert wasn't sitting in the rear of the boat. emoBig

Chalk this one up to experience and casting practice. There will be better days. I sure hope that the ash spill a few weeks ago hasn't ruined the fishing up there. emoGeezer
