Gator, Chickamauga, Bass, 12/19/2009, Larry
#1
Larry and I put in about 9am today and fished until 6pm. We were bass fishing. Tried several spots along the banks in and around HB but didn't have much luck. We finally found some feeding on some baitfish in a slough and caught either 10 or 11 nice LM's. The largest was exactly 5 lbs but all were healthy, all were 15 + inches. I can remember a 3lb 11 oz, 3lb 7 oz, 2 lb 11 oz , I believe only one was under 2 1/2 lbs. We caught our fish mostly with crank baits in water 2 to 6 ft deep using rattle traps and similar type baits, I threw a spinner bait but not even a hit on it. We even went to possum creek and fished between 1 and 4pm and didn't get a bite there. Larry caught a drum about 10 lbs and we had an assortment of drum, yellow bass, and catfish also. Water temp was about 55 when we started and got up to 60 in places during the day. All fish safely returned to fight another day. A great day for us and another great day to be on the water. emoFish emoDance emoFish
