I was just casualy looking at the fish counts for the last 7 days. And I noticed a real spike the last day or so over the dam. If anyone knows anything about fish counts maybe you could provide some insight. Im wondering if this is something that happens this late in the year, every year? If it might be because its been colder for longer than usual? How many of these fish make it to like the north fork/south fork.middle fork? And what sort of spike it would need to see a real dramatic improvement in the fishing in the system? Would something like 500 counted fish a day for a week be something special? I am definatly analytical and trying to make some sense out of these numbers. And what it means for the fishery up there.
While up there fishing some locals from stites and kooskia who i met fishing thought the best fishing was over and some said the best run still hadnt made it up the river yet. I somehow got the sense that most people know how to catch fish. But lacked the insight into the fishery itself. Any insight would be appreciated!
Thanks
