Went to carters lake today to fish for rockfish I could not find anyone that wanted to go. That's unusually because my friends I call them bottom feeders because they never help pay for anything They are always along for a free fishing trip. Anyway now for the report. Got to the lake around 9 am very windy and cool, water temp around 52. found plenty of bait around 10 to 15 ft with some large fish on graph, free lined trout behind boat caught two nice spots before 10 am. did not weigh fish but guessing about 3 to 4 lbs. after that the bait and fish disappeared, maybe next time I will go bass fishing and I might catch a stripe. I also talked to a guide he said the stripe fishing has been very slow after the shad die off he thinks the last cold snap killed allot of the shad which makes for a easy meal for the fish. I have noticed allot of dead shad in the tenn river also, I just wonder if it is related.
