Echo Bay 4/18
#1
Went out to Echo Bay today. Went with a friend and we didn't get out on the water until about 10:00 a.m. Pretty nice then, fished in a cove near the marina and caught 1 nice striper, about 1.5 lbs, and two small, and I mean small smallmouths - 1 on corn, 1 on worms. (Been itching to try corn just for the heck of it!) Had to let them go to get a lot bigger.
Wind picked up, went out to Stewarts Point.....friends anchor wouldn't hold anywhere, so we crossed over to Glory Hole and just drifted. Caught a lot of striper, between 1/2 and 2 pds. Ended up with 9 keepers, can't complain. Caught all of them on 1/2 cut anchovies and a few on whole anchovies. Forgot camera! Cleaned them up at the cleaning station along with a crowd of other people cleaning stripers. Another good day fishing, even with the wind. Really isn't a bad day fishing in my opinion. Gonna have a great dinner tomorrow nite!
