Ryan and I headed out this morning and found a lot of fish early but no real size and nothing we would end up keeping. It seemed that we would fish water where there was someone fishing for the most of the morning, everywhere we wanted to go someone was there and amazingly enough it was the same boat. We had a limit on shakey heads and texas rigged plastics early on and looked to cull for the remainder of the day. We finally decided to ditch what we had pre fished and adjusted to the weather and lack of wind. After we ate a bite around 1PM we started to find the big girls. All of our best fish came in 3-6 foot of water on soft plastics. I caught a 6+ and 2 casts later a 5+. With about 20 minutes left I caught a 6+ and Ryan broke off on a 4-5 pounder. It was an amazing day and im glad I had a good guide. I fished ways that I have never tried before and its always fun to get broken in to a style catching 6 pounders. Ryan let me catch our biggest 3 fish and I was proud to do so. Our big fish that we weighed was 6.6 but we had a slightly bigger one in the bag, either way it wanst the seven and a half pound hog that was on the board already. When we were standing in line we heard the winners bag called at 25.6 I thought we were going to be a couple pounds short. I had no idea that we would only be tenths short. By far, leaps and bounds, my best day ever. Thanks again Ryan, it was a blast.
