This report is for Sat and Sun. Sat had a full day trip with clients wanting to have a fun time and catch some fish. We did a little bit of everything and caught fish everywhere. We boated around 35 with big fish near 7 lbs. We had 3 over 6 lbs and another over 5 lbs with my client catching his personal best at 6lbs 6 oz. Best 5 was around 29 lbs with big fish biting on every stop. We caught most the fish shallow with the bigger fish coming deeper on crankbaits and plastics. The shallow fish were in 1-3ft and were 2-3 lbs with the bigger fish coming 5-9ft.

Sunday me and dad fished the HT3 out of Goosepond. We started deep cranking ledges for 2 hours with no bites before we went shallow. We caught a bunch of fish but most were smaller. Around 11 started cathcing some better keepers having around 14 lbs. Then hooked what I thought was a small fish and next thing I know a 7-8 lber came out the water and spit my craw. We went deeper trying to find the bigger fish I had been catching but they weren't cooperating. Last 20 minutes pulled on a shallow windy point and caught a 5 and a 4 and had to leave fish biting. Ended the day with 19 lbs. Caught all fish on soft plastics in 2-4ft. I think it took 28 lbs to win and 22 lbs to get a check in 5th place. That one fish cost us but everyone has that story. Fishing should only get better the next couple months.

Alex Davis
