My brother-in-law did a major make-over on his farm pond and needed help getting fish from one pond to another, so he called upon ol' Daniel (drc) and I and a handful of others to have a fishin' day.
We had worms and weenies and cut bait and artificials, but they wouldn't let me anywhere near the weenies - kept saying something about them not being on my diet and that they were for bait. So instead I got to use worms in very, very black dirt, which will be obvious to you in the photo of me in my used-to-be-white shirt (WOW - look how skinny both I and the fish look - must be a special new make-everything-thinner camera lens!). I know I can't really be that thin, 'cause I sat in a canvas deck chair that had been outside for a few years and immediately fell through so that my butt was on the dock and my arms and legs were pointing straight up. I'm pretty sure that 3 of the guys and 2 kids all staggered around laughing until they fell into the pond. Even the goat tied up in the yard said "not baa-aa-ad"!!!!
I guess we only got 15 or 18 channel cats and will have to go back sometime when it's NOT 1:00 pm with a BRIGHT sun beating down on a very shallow pond. It sure didn't bother the sunfish though! We had a real hoot catching a tub full. There were even a reasonable number of bass caught, but all were returned to the pond. DRC saw a nice big bass cruising, and just had to chase it for an hour with various lures, but other than one close-up inspection of one lure, the fish just wasn't tempted.
Here are just a couple of pics of another great fishing outing (it's all in the attitude!)..........
